Lt Gen PS Shekhawat Takes Charge as Chief of Staff, Sapta Shakti Command
JAIPUR, February 02, 2026: Lieutenant General PS Shekhawat officially assumed the high-profile appointment of Chief of Staff of the Indian Army’s Sapta Shakti Command (South Western Command) today.
Known for its strategic significance in maintaining operational readiness along the western borders, the Command welcomed the senior officer in a formal military ceremony.
Upon taking charge, Lt Gen Shekhawat underscored his commitment to the Command’s mission of ensuring territorial integrity and regional security.
Marking the start of his tenure with a tribute to the fallen, the General visited the “Prerna Sthal” war memorial. In a solemn wreath-laying ceremony, he paid deep homage to the Bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
