SRINAGAR, February 02, 2026: Shreya Singhal, Chief Executive Officer of the J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) and JTFRP, conducted a comprehensive site inspection today to review the construction of the new 108-bed specialized Infertility and Gynae Oncology block at Lal Ded Hospital.
This state-of-the-art facility, estimated to cost ₹118 crore, is being developed under the World Bank-funded Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project (JTFRP) and features advanced seismic-resistant base isolation technology.
The G+5 structure is designed to national and international architectural standards and will include specialized zones such as modular operation theatres, Intensive Care Units (ICUs), High Dependency Units (HDUs), and dedicated pre- and post-natal care wards.
During the visit, the CEO was informed that the foundation works have been successfully completed and the project is now entering a critical phase involving the integration of prefabricated structural components.
To ensure the facility is ready to serve the public as soon as possible, the CEO directed the executing teams to expedite all remaining works and target completion well before the August 31 deadline.
She emphasized the importance of parallel work execution—including the simultaneous procurement of medical, electrical, and mechanical equipment—and mandated weekly site monitoring visits by the Project Management Support teams to prevent any potential delays in this vital healthcare expansion.
