Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather Nominates Panel of Chairmen for 2026 Budget Session

JAMMU, February 02, 2026: In a key procedural move on the opening day of the 2026 Budget Session, the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, officially announced the Panel of Chairmen.

The Speaker nominated three seasoned legislators to the panel: Mubarak Gul (MLA Eidgah), Surjeet Singh Slathia (MLA Samba), and Nizamuddin Bhat (MLA Bandipora).

Under the legislative rules of the House, these appointed members are authorized to preside over the proceedings of the Assembly in the absence of the Speaker, ensuring the continuity and smooth functioning of the legislative business throughout the ongoing session.
