LG Manoj Sinha Lauds NCC Cadets for Excellence at Republic Day Camp 2026

JAMMU, February 02, 2026: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of the Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Directorate following their return from the prestigious Republic Day Camp in New Delhi.

During the ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor commended the NCC for its pivotal role in nurturing youth, promoting selfless service, and fostering a developed society. He emphasized that the true identity of a nation is forged through the character, conduct, and mutual trust of its citizens, identifying youth power as the transformative force driving national change.

He remarked that a developed nation transcends infrastructure and technology, finding its true meaning in a unified social fabric and firm moral values.

Highlighting the importance of collective progress over individual gain, the Lieutenant Governor noted that the NCC has inspired generations to prioritize national interests. He urged the cadets to focus on self-development as a direct contribution to the country’s advancement, stating that when honesty and hard work become integral to the lives of young people, development evolves from mere statistics into lived values.

He specifically tasked the cadets of the Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Directorate with the responsibility of dismantling barriers of region, language, caste, and religion to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and unity across all districts.

The event also served as a platform to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the 128-member contingent. The Lieutenant Governor felicitated the cadets with Certificates of Excellence, praising their performance on the Kartavya Path and their adaptation to modern training like drone technology.

Notable honors included the Raksha Mantri Padak awarded to SUO Arpundeep Kour for her leadership during Op SINDOOR and the Chief of Army Staff Commendation for Lieutenant Ruksana Kousar.

Additionally, the Directorate received the “Most Improved Directorate Award” at the All-India level, with individual cadets securing prestigious roles, such as Tawheed Altaf serving as Parade Commander and Samriti Kalhuria acting as pilot to the Prime Minister during the PM Rally.
