Indian Army and CISF Bolster National Security with Joint Counter-Terrorism Training in Pune
PUNE, February 01, 2026 — In a major step toward enhancing inter-agency operational synergy, the Indian Army successfully concluded a specialized two-week capsule training course for Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at the Aundh Military Station. Held from January 19 to 31, the intensive program focused on Counter-Terrorism and Quick Reaction Team (QRT) skill enhancement.
A total of 100 CISF personnel underwent rigorous training designed to sharpen their tactical responses and combat readiness in high-pressure security environments.The training culminated in a high-intensity Joint Mock Drill, featuring a seamless collaboration between the Indian Army, CISF, Force One, State Police, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Bomb Disposal Squad, Fire Department, and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). This multi-agency exercise was designed to test and refine coordination protocols for real-world terror threats.
During the event, CISF trainees also presented an impressive Army Martial Arts Routine (AMAR) demonstration, showcasing their physical prowess and close-quarter combat skills.The final day was attended by several high-ranking officials, including ADG Padmakar S. Ranpise, IG Abhishek Goyal, and DIG Mamta Rahul.
The officers engaged with the trainees and partner agency representatives, emphasizing that such integrated training modules are vital for maintaining a robust national security framework. By fostering “Civil-Military Fusion,” the program ensures that India’s elite security forces remain ahead of evolving security challenges through shared expertise and unified tactical execution.
