Jammu, January 31, 2026: A specialized two-day training and workshop program focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Advanced MS Excel concluded today at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu. Organized by the Directorate of Industries and Commerce (I&C), Jammu, in collaboration with IIT Jammu, the initiative aimed to equip government officers and officials with cutting-edge skills for modern administration.
Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh, who addressed the valedictory session, emphasized the urgent need for capacity building and skill upgrades to meet the evolving demands of a technology-driven working environment.
Over 70 participants attended the intensive sessions, which focused on leveraging AI and data analytics to enhance efficiency and transparency in e-governance.
During the event, Director of Industries and Commerce Jammu, Arun Kumar Manhas, highlighted how the integration of AI is revolutionizing citizen services through unprecedented data-driven insights. The workshop, which began on January 29, provided hands-on training in using AI with MS Excel to streamline data preparation and facilitate informed decision-making.
To showcase their learning, participants delivered group presentations on applying these technical tools to real-world governance challenges. The program concluded with the distribution of certificates by the Commissioner Secretary, who encouraged the officials to integrate these new skill sets into their daily assignments to foster a more proactive and digitally empowered department.
