Jammu and Kashmir Weather Forecast: Rain and Snow Expected as New Western Disturbance Approaches
SRINAGAR, Jan 31, 2026 — According to the latest Jammu and Kashmir weather update, the region is bracing for a shift in conditions as a fresh Western Disturbance arrives.
While today, January 31, is expected to remain largely dry across the Union Territory, weather patterns will change starting tomorrow.
On February 1, most areas will see mostly dry conditions, though light rain or snow is forecast for parts of the Chenab Valley, south Kashmir, and high-altitude routes like the Sonamarg-Drass axis and Gurez-Tulail Valley.
After a brief return to dry weather on February 2, a more significant weather system is set to bring light to moderate rain and snowfall to many places across Jammu and Kashmir on February 3.
Following this spell, a period of stable and dry weather is expected to dominate the region from February 4 through February 6.
Authorities have advised travelers to monitor road conditions, particularly on mountain passes, as these intermittent spells may impact local transport.
