Udhampur Police Seize ₹30 Lakh Property of Punjab Drug Peddler Under NDPS Act

UDHAMPUR, Jan 31, 2026 — In a major crackdown on the narcotics trade, the Udhampur Police has formally attached a commercial vehicle valued at approximately ₹30 lakh belonging to a notorious inter-state drug peddler.

The property, a truck with registration number PB13AR-5475, is owned by Sanaullah Mir, son of Ghulam Mohd., a resident of Sangrur, Punjab. This action was executed under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, linked to an existing case (FIR No. 125/2020) registered at the Udhampur Police Station.

The seizure follows a comprehensive financial investigation and “backward link” analysis conducted by local authorities. Investigators determined that the vehicle was not a legitimate asset but rather the proceeds of crime, purchased using wealth amassed through illegal drug trafficking.

By tracing the money trail, the Investigating Officer successfully established that the accused’s assets were directly funded by illicit narcotics activities, leading to the official attachment order issued today.

This latest enforcement action brings the total value of assets seized by the Udhampur Police under the NDPS Act to roughly ₹1.40 crore for the current year. This sustained campaign highlights the department’s commitment to dismantling the financial infrastructure of drug syndicates and ensuring that those involved in the trade are stripped of their illegal gains.
