JAMMU, Jan 29, 2026 — Emphasizing the transformative power of literature, Speaker of the J&K Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather declared that poetry serves as a vital bridge for promoting harmony and cultural exchange in India’s multilingual society.

Speaking as the chief guest at the prestigious All India Urdu Mushaira organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) at Abhinav Theatre, he highlighted how the universal language of verse connects diverse backgrounds to strengthen the nation’s composite cultural ethos.

Held as part of the 77th Republic Day celebrations, the event featured a stellar lineup of national literary figures, including Moin Shadab, Jyoti Azad, and Dr. Majid Deobandi, alongside prominent local voices like Pritpal Singh Betaab and Rukhsana Jabeen.

Abdul Rahim Rather lauded the JKAACL for providing a platform that blends classical traditions with contemporary social themes of love and humanity, urging such literary gatherings to continue nurturing excellence and preserving the linguistic heritage that defines India’s rich social fabric.
