Handwara ADC Imposes ₹30,000 Fine on Erring Food Business Operators for Quality Violations
HANDWARA, Jan 29, 2026 — Taking a firm stand against food safety violations, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Adjudicating Officer Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi, imposed a collective fine of ₹30,000 on several Food Business Operators (FBOs) for breaching the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act (FS&SA) 2006.
During the adjudication of cases involving misbranded and substandard food products, the officer penalized the erring traders to ensure accountability in the local market. Issuing a stern warning to all food businesses in the region, the Adjudicating Officer emphasized the necessity of strictly adhering to legal regulations and cautioned that any future non-compliance with the safety standards and rules will be met with even more severe legal consequences.
