Assam Rifles Bolsters Civil-Military Ties with New Community Hall in Kamjong, Manipur
KAMJONG, January 29, 2026 — Reaffirming its steadfast commitment to regional development and civil–military cooperation, the Assam Rifles officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art Community Hall in Chakama village, located in the Kamjong District of Manipur.
Constructed under the aegis of Operation Sadbhavna, the facility was formally opened by the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South), Imphal, during a ceremony attended by military officials, civil dignitaries, village elders, and local residents.
This strategic infrastructure project addresses a long-standing grievance of the local population, who previously relied on makeshift arrangements for social and cultural gatherings that were frequently disrupted by the region’s adverse weather conditions.
By providing a permanent, dedicated venue for community activities, the initiative is set to significantly enhance the quality of local life, foster social cohesion, and further solidify the enduring bond between the “Friends of the Hill People” and the citizens of Manipur.
