UDHAMPUR, April 27, 2026 — Executing a major crackdown under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, the Udhampur Police has attached immovable property valued at ₹20 lakh belonging to a drug peddler identified as Rafiq.
The action, carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, involved the seizure of a residential house located at Jojrian Talab. Investigations revealed that the accused, the son of Bansi, had acquired the property situated on state land through the proceeds of illegal narcotics trafficking.
This seizure is linked to a 2025 criminal case registered at the Udhampur Police Station involving the trade of banned substances. The department’s firm commitment to dismantling the financial backbone of the drug trade remains a central pillar of the ongoing campaign to create a drug-free district.
By targeting the assets of those involved in the illicit trade, the Udhampur Police aims to send a strong deterrent message to those profiting from the addiction of local youth.
Alongside these stringent enforcement measures, the police continue to intensify awareness programs across the region, emphasizing that the battle against the drug menace requires both aggressive legal action and community-wide vigilance to safeguard the future of the younger generation.
