Thathri flash floods block Doda Kishtwar highway and damage property in Doda

DODA, July 7, 2026 — Multiple locations in the Thathri area of Doda district witnessed fresh flash floods on Tuesday, causing extensive damage to property and disrupting normal life.

Several structures in Thathri town were damaged due to the massive flood, with property worth lakhs of rupees estimated to have been affected.

The Doda – Kishtwar National Highway was also blocked following the floods, leading to traffic disruption and inconvenience to commuters.

Authorities are assessing the situation on the ground, while restoration and clearance work is underway to restore connectivity and normalcy in the affected areas.

This follows a similar incident the previous day, where road connectivity was disrupted after a flash flood and mudslide blocked the road at Prem Nagar.
