Former Ministers Meet Manoj Sinha to Discuss Development Projects in Doda and Kishtwar
SRINAGAR, July 6, 2026 :- Former Ministers GM Saroori and Abdul Majeed Wani met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today to discuss multiple public interest and development initiatives for the Doda and Kishtwar districts.
The former ministers presented a detailed agenda focused on improving public infrastructure, creating educational opportunities, and boosting economic growth across the Chenab valley region.During the meeting, the leaders highlighted the urgent need to strengthen regional healthcare infrastructure and requested the establishment of a Government Women’s Degree College in Doda alongside a Government Medical College in Kishtwar.
They also urged the administration to expedite major connectivity projects, including the construction of the Singhpora-Vailoo Tunnel, the Sudhmahadev Tunnel, and the sanctioning of the Naigarh tunnel project to ensure all-weather access.
Additionally, the discussion covered the immediate rehabilitation of local families affected by recent cloudbursts and flash floods, as well as strategies to promote potential tourist destinations in the area.
To further regional governance and employment, the former ministers requested the constitution of a Chenab Hill Development Council and advocated for a special recruitment drive in the Jammu and Kashmir Police specifically targeting local youth.
