Srinagar police freeze assets worth two crores belonging to drug peddlers under NDPS Act

SRINAGAR, May 30, 2026 :- Srinagar Police attached multiple immovable properties worth approximately two crore rupees belonging to individuals involved in narcotics trafficking as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.

The legal actions were executed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act to dismantle the financial network of local drug syndicates.In the first operation, the Bemina Police Station attached a double-story residential house and four marlas of land valued at 1.5 crore rupees in Firdous Colony, Bemina.

The property belongs to accused drug peddler Mudasir Ahmad Pir, also known as Sahil or Doge. The attachment proceedings were finalized under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act following confirmation from the competent authority under the Union Ministry of Finance. Investigators established that the residential asset had been acquired using illicit funds generated from drug trafficking.

In a separate action, law enforcement officials attached another residential house and land valued at 50 lakh rupees belonging to a known drug peddler, Shafiq Ahmad Khawaja, a resident of Dildar Karnah in Kupwara district. This property was frozen under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in connection with an active narcotics case registered at the MR Gunj Police Station.

Srinagar Police reiterated their commitment to destroying the financial infrastructure of drug networks and urged citizens to assist law enforcement by sharing information on narcotics activities.
