New Kendriya Vidyalaya in Bani: DC Kathua and KVS Jammu Inspect Proposed School Site

BANI, JULY 18, 2026 — In a major push to boost the educational infrastructure in the region, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma, alongside Deputy Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) Jammu Region, Harshit Mishra, conducted a joint inspection of the proposed site for the upcoming Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in Bani. The high-level team evaluated a 50-kanal land parcel earmarked for the permanent campus, carefully assessing its accessibility and essential infrastructure requirements.

To ensure local students do not face delays, the officials also reviewed the ongoing renovation of temporary accommodations being set up at the Government Higher Secondary School, Bani. DC Kathua Rajesh Sharma emphasized the District Administration’s commitment to providing seamless support, directing the concerned departments to expedite all remaining formalities and infrastructure works in close coordination with KVS. Accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sundeep Kumar and Tehsildar Predhyum Attri, the visiting delegation stressed that strict timelines must be met to ensure the prestigious institution becomes operational as early as possible, bringing high-quality education to this remote, hilly region.
