Satish Sharma Launches Over ₹10 Crore Development Projects in Jammu’s Chhamb Constituency
JAMMU, JULY 17, 2026 — In a major boost to rural infrastructure, Satish Sharma, the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports, and Science & Technology, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a suite of developmental projects worth over ₹10 crore across the Chhamb Constituency today. Aimed at accelerating infrastructure, improving public service delivery, and ensuring equitable growth in border areas, these initiatives span critical sectors including roads, bridges, administration, sports, healthcare, and animal husbandry.
Among the key road connectivity achievements, the Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Thandi Choi–Sainth Road, completed at a cost of ₹1.50 crore, and laid the foundation stone for the ₹2.50 crore Chaprial–Bardoh Road project, both of which are set to significantly ease travel, boost trade, and improve access to essential services for remote villages. Adding to the connectivity layout, Sharma also inaugurated a vital new bridge at Kharah, built for ₹3.45 crore, which is expected to provide reliable, all-weather transit for local farmers, students, and emergency services.
To bring governance closer to local citizens and streamline administrative efficiency, the Minister laid the foundation stone for a modern Tehsil Office Building at Kharah Balli, estimated at ₹76.74 lakh. Focusing on community welfare and youth empowerment, he inaugurated a new ₹20.99 lakh volleyball court at Pallanwala to foster local athletic talent, and distributed essential medical equipment to strengthen local healthcare centers. Additionally, recognizing the critical role of livestock in the rural economy, Sharma laid the foundation stone for a ₹2.07 crore Veterinary Hospital at Khour to improve animal healthcare and support farmers’ livelihoods.
Concluding his visit, the Minister engaged with local residents, public representatives, and youth organizations to listen to their developmental aspirations, assuring them of prompt resolutions. He emphasized that the Jammu and Kashmir government remains tirelessly committed to sustainable, inclusive progress, ensuring that the direct benefits of modern infrastructure and public welfare reach every household in the region.
