Monsoon Safety Advisory: Executive Engineer Electric Division Udhampur Urges Caution Near Electrical Installations

UDHAMPUR, JULY 27: In light of the ongoing monsoon season and continuous rainfall, the Office of the Executive Engineer, Electric Division, Udhampur, has issued a public safety advisory urging residents to exercise extreme caution near electrical installations to prevent accidents and safeguard lives.

The administration has advised the general public to refrain from touching or approaching electric poles, transformers, stay wires, and transmission towers, while maintaining a safe distance from fallen or sagging power lines. Residents are instructed to report any damaged wiring immediately to the nearest JPDCL office or helpline.

Furthermore, parents and guardians are strongly advised to keep children and pets away from electrical equipment, avoid parking vehicles or storing materials near transformers and poles, and assume all electrical installations are live in waterlogged areas to ensure public safety throughout the wet weather.
