Divisional Commissioner and IGP Review Independence Day 2026 Preparations in Jammu
JAMMU, July 28 — Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar and Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti chaired a high-level meeting at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office to review the preparations for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations across the Jammu division.
Senior officers from various departments, including health, public works, power distribution, transport, and education, joined the session both in person and virtually to ensure seamless execution of the event.The meeting focused on key logistical aspects such as venue setup, traffic management, medical response, drinking water supply, sanitation, and lighting at the main venue, M.A. Stadium, as well as district headquarters.
Ramesh Kumar directed all departments to complete their assigned duties within the specified deadlines and maintain strict coordination, emphasizing public safety, discipline, and protocol during the main function and rehearsals. Attendance for all government employees at the celebrations has been made mandatory.
Focusing on safety and public convenience, IGP Bhim Sen Tuti confirmed that robust, multi-tiered security arrangements will be established around the main venue and surrounding areas. A dedicated traffic management plan is also being finalized to facilitate hassle-free movement for participants, invitees, and the general public.
Meanwhile, essential service departments were instructed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, alongside deploying fire tenders and medical teams across all venues.
