Sakeena Itoo Reviews Care of Injured Amarnath Pilgrims at SKIMS Soura

SRINAGAR, JULY 28 — Following direct instructions from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, visited the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura today. Her visit aimed to assess the medical care being provided to Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims who were injured in a recent road accident in Ganiwan, Ganderbal. During her time at the hospital, Minister Itoo personally interacted with the recovering pilgrims and their families, offering strong assurances of total government assistance. She held comprehensive discussions with senior medical officers and attending specialists to review each patient’s progress, emphasizing that the health and speedy recovery of the pilgrims remain the state’s highest priority.

To guarantee optimal outcomes, Minister Itoo instructed the SKIMS administration to maintain round-the-clock specialized care, ensure an uninterrupted supply of essential medicines, and eliminate any potential compromises in healthcare delivery. Expressing the government’s firm commitment, she noted that every necessary resource would be deployed to aid the victims’ recovery. Reinforcing these efforts, Director SKIMS Dr. Ashraf Ganie confirmed that all injured pilgrims are currently under continuous medical supervision by expert specialist teams and are receiving full-spectrum care.
