MHA Approves Interim Ad-Hoc Promotions for Group B Administrative Officers in Ladakh to Tackle Staff Shortage

LEH, July 28 — Lieutenant Governor Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena announced that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has accepted recommendations to grant interim ad-hoc promotions to eligible Group ‘B’ Gazetted Administrative Service officers in Ladakh.

Aimed at mitigating critical administrative manpower shortages while the ministry formulates a permanent promotion framework, the decision is expected to significantly enhance local governance efficiency and public service delivery across the Union Territory.

Expressing gratitude to Home Minister Amit Shah for his continuous support in strengthening the region’s institutional capacity, the Lieutenant Governor directed the Chief Secretary to initiate the promotion process immediately, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to employee empowerment and operational excellence.
