Pawan Khajuria Urges Swift Action Against Harassment of School Girls in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, JULY 28— Senior leader Pawan Khajuria has raised serious concerns regarding the safety of female students commuting along the Sairgah Road stretch, which connects the Town Hall above the sacred Devika Shrine to Omara in Udhampur.

As Per the Press Release issued by Senior Leader Pawan Khajuria in which stated that The issue came to light after numerous anxious parents approached Khajuria’s office at Sailan Talaab, both in person and via phone, reporting frequent instances of harassment. According to the complaints, miscreants and anti-social elements hide behind dense bushes lining the roadside to target young women traveling daily to local colleges and schools. These individuals reportedly pass obscene comments, make inappropriate gestures, and intimidate students, creating a widespread atmosphere of fear among commuters and their families.

“The safety of our daughters must be the absolute top priority. No female student should ever be forced to travel in fear just to pursue an education,” Khajuria asserted.

Taking immediate note of the situation, Khajuria contacted senior police and administrative officers over the phone, demanding enhanced police patrolling, strict surveillance over suspicious individuals, and robust safety measures along the route. Additionally, he urged Udhampur Municipal Corporation officials to initiate an urgent drive to clear the dense roadside vegetation, eliminating potential hiding spots for offenders.

Khajuria also highlighted similar complaints from residents regarding anti-social activities along the Dudhadhari Temple Road, Battal Ballian Road, and Dandayal Road. He called upon the local administration to take decisive and strict legal action against offenders to restore public confidence and ensure a safe, fear-free environment for students.
