KISHTWAR, May 1, 2026:- The Indian Army and the Special Operations Group achieved a significant breakthrough on Friday by uncovering a hidden terrorist cache in the dense Dharbi Bajmandoo forest area of Sigdi Bhata within the Chhatroo sector.

The discovery occurred around 11:20 AM during a sustained search operation that has been active since late March across the Dolgam, Janseer, and Kandwar regions. This joint effort by the 11 Rashtriya Rifles and local police units successfully neutralized a potential threat by dismantling a strategic base used for storing lethal equipment.

The recovery operation yielded a diverse array of weaponry and communication tools, including a carbine gun and a pistol, both equipped with magazines, along with a 51 mm under-barrel grenade launcher round.

Security personnel also seized approximately one kilogram of PEK explosive substance, four electric detonators, and a total of 115 live ammunition rounds of varying calibers. In addition to the combat gear, the teams recovered three radio sets from Kenwood and Motorola and a pull-through for weapon maintenance, marking a major success in the ongoing efforts to maintain peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
