KC Venugopal urges External Affairs Ministry to rescue Indians stranded at Kuwait Airport

NEW DELHI, June 3, 2026 :- AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal has written an urgent letter to Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar, drawing attention to the highly distressing reports of an Iranian drone and missile attack on Kuwait Airport.

Highlighting the immense panic and severe uncertainty faced by a large number of Indian nationals currently stranded at the airport and its vicinity, Venugopal requested the ministry to initiate immediate crisis-management measures on a war footing to ensure the safety and vulnerability of the citizens.In the letter, the Member of Parliament urged the External Affairs Minister to direct the Indian Embassy in Kuwait to safely relocate all stranded passengers to secure embassy shelters.

He emphasized the critical need for officially publishing the exact details and status of the stuck passengers at the earliest to relieve the severe anxiety of their families back home. Furthermore, he stated that immediate arrangements must be made to provide communication facilities at these shelters and the airport, enabling stranded individuals to contact their families and assure them of their safety.

Venugopal also urged the government to set up a dedicated, 24×7 emergency toll-free helpline desk for real-time updates and coordinated assistance.

Additionally, he called for strict instructions to all concerned airlines to ensure that travel rescheduling is done completely free of charge for all affected passengers.

Recognizing that many individuals may have lost their passports or vital travel documents in the chaos, the chairperson requested that the Indian Embassy expedite the issuance of temporary Emergency Certificates without administrative delays to facilitate a smooth and quick return to India.
