J&K Health Department Accord Status of Quasi Permanent Service to Dr Shoket Mahmood Chowdry

JAMMU/SRINAGAR, AUGUST 06, 2026 — The Health and Medical Education Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued an official order declaring the services of Dr Shoket Mahmood Chowdry, Professor in the Department of Medicine at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, as quasi-permanent in a gazetted capacity. The announcement was formalized through Government Order No. 604-JK(HME) of 2026, issued from the Civil Secretariat by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government M. Raju.

The order was passed in accordance with Rule 3(1) and Rule 3-A(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Temporary Service) Rules, 1961, read alongside Schedule IX of the J&K Civil Services Regulations (CSR) Volume II. Official copies of the sanction have been forwarded to key administrative offices for record and execution, including the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, the Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, the Joint Secretary (J&K) in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and the Principal of GMC Jammu. The order was signed and endorsed by Deputy Secretary to the Government Dr Murtaza Rashid.
