Grand Maha Aarti at Historic Jia Pota Ghat in Akhnoor Set for August 6

JAMMU/AKHNOOR, August 5: On the auspicious occasion of the holy month of Shravan, a grand Maha Aarti is scheduled to take place at the historic Jia Pota Ghat in Akhnoor on Thursday, August 6, at 6:00 PM. The spiritual event is being jointly organized by the Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic Sansthan Trust and the Shri Raghunath Ji Aarti Sansthan, Jammu. The ceremony will be held under the guidance and presence of Akhnoor MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat.

To ensure the smooth execution of the event, a comprehensive preparatory meeting was held in Akhnoor. The session focused on reviewing the event’s schedule, security protocols, sanitation, traffic management, and essential facilities for visiting devotees. Key departmental officials and staff were directed to execute their assigned responsibilities efficiently to prevent any inconvenience for attendees. The meeting was attended by Mohan Lal Bhagat, Mahant Rohit Shastri, Baldev Khullar (Vice Chairman of Shri Raghunath Ji Aarti Sansthan), committee members, and departmental representatives. The Shri Raghunath Ji Aarti Sansthan operates under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Ritu Singh.

Addressing the gathering, Mohan Lal Bhagat highlighted that religious and cultural events play a vital role in strengthening spiritual awareness, fostering social harmony, and preserving the nation’s rich heritage. He urged residents and devotees from across the region to attend the gathering in large numbers. Adding to this, Mahant Rohit Shastri described the upcoming gathering as a magnificent confluence of faith and Sanatan culture, featuring Vedic chanting, ceremonial lighting of lamps, collective prayers, and traditional rituals designed to create a deeply devotional atmosphere. The organizing committee has extended an invitation to the public and followers of Sanatan Dharma to gather at Jia Pota Ghat on Thursday evening to participate in the sacred celebration.
