NEW DELHI, May 3, 2026 — An Indian Army contingent has officially departed to participate in the second edition of the India-Cambodia bilateral military exercise, known as CINBAX-II 2026. The training is scheduled to take place from May 4 to May 17, 2026, at the Royal Cambodian Air Force Training Centre in Kampong Speu Province.

This exercise represents a key pillar of India’s ongoing defense cooperation with friendly nations and is particularly significant given the current landscape of global security challenges. The training will be conducted under the framework of Chapter VII of the United Nations mandate, focusing on company-level joint operations within sub-conventional environments.

The Indian contingent consists of 120 personnel primarily from a battalion of the Maratha Light Infantry Regiment, while the Cambodian side is represented by 160 personnel from the Royal Cambodian Army.

The program is designed to align with modern counter-terrorism dynamics often faced by peacekeeping forces during international missions.Throughout the exercise, both forces will engage in tactical drills and comprehensive discussions to achieve operational synergy.

Training will include specialized skills such as drone operations, mortar usage, and sniper tactics, culminating in a validation exercise. By sharing best practices and operational experiences gained in semi-urban environments, the two nations aim to enhance their mutual coordination and interoperability.

Beyond tactical training, CINBAX-II 2026 serves as a platform to demonstrate the capabilities of both countries in contributing to global peace. This joint effort reflects the strengthening defense ties between India and Cambodia and is expected to further bolster bilateral relations.

The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to addressing regional security challenges through mutual understanding and professional exchange.
