Habitual Drug Peddler Detained Under PIT NDPS Act by Udhampur Police

Udhampur, May 9, 2026 :- As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan, Udhampur Police has successfully executed a detention order under the PIT NDPS Act against a notorious drug peddler.

The individual, identified as Sachin Kumar, son of Sham Lal and resident of the Rehambal area near Kali Mata, was detained following a warrant issued by the competent authority. He has since been lodged in District Jail Udhampur as part of the department’s intensified crackdown on illicit drug trafficking within the district.

Sachin Kumar is a habitual offender with a documented history of involvement in narcotics-related activities that posed a significant threat to public health and the well-being of the local youth.

By utilizing the stringent provisions of the PIT NDPS Act, the police aim to disrupt the supply chain of illegal substances and deter repeat offenders.
