Jammu and Kashmir Police Conduct Grenade Attack Response Mock Drill at Bijbehara Landing Strip
BIJBEHARA, June 26, 2026 — As part of the elaborate security preparations for the forthcoming Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a comprehensive grenade attack response mock drill at the Bijbehara landing strip. The strategic exercise was designed to critically evaluate the preparedness, operational efficiency, and swift response capabilities of security forces in the event of a high-stakes security contingency. Simulating a real-world grenade attack scenario, the mock drill allowed security personnel to rehearse crucial immediate response procedures, including rapid area sanitization, civilian evacuation, casualty management, and the outright neutralization of threats.
The drill witnessed active, synchronized participation from the Anantnag Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other vital emergency response agencies. By testing the battlefield effectiveness of communication systems, Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), strict access control measures, medical evacuation protocols, and centralized command-and-control mechanisms, the exercise successfully ensured a prompt and highly coordinated joint response during potential emergencies. Jammu and Kashmir Police reiterated their full commitment to guaranteeing a safe, secure, and peaceful pilgrimage season, noting that similar proactive mock drills are being systematically executed across strategic locations in the district to continually enhance response capabilities and fortify the safety of all arriving pilgrims.
