Drone recovered from Jammu field sent for forensic analysis
JAMMU, Jul 14 — A drone was found in an agricultural field in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning.
A resident of Chak Salaria spotted the drone near Devak around 5:50 am while out for a morning run. The individual immediately reported the discovery to a nearby army unit, prompting officials to seize the flying object.
Officials have sent the drone for forensic examination to identify its origin and technical specifications. The analysis will also determine if the device was involved in any cross-border activities. The recovery follows an incident on Monday night when army troops in the neighbouring Nandpur village detected an unidentified flying object approaching from the Arnia side around 9 pm.
The military responded by activating its anti-drone protocol and deploying jamming measures against the suspected drone.
Authorities believe the recovered device is the same object that was jammed by the army the previous night, causing it to come down in the field.
