SAMBA, JULY 13, 2026: In a major crackdown on drug syndicates and illegal land encroachment, the Samba Police, in close coordination with the District Civil Administration, executed a high-profile demolition drive today at Bela Manohar in the Chak Manga area of Samba district. During the law enforcement operation, a single-storey residential house built illegally on 10 Marlas of prime state land—valued at approximately Rs. 65 lakhs—was completely razed in accordance with statutory legal provisions.
The demolished property belonged to Raj Mahammad, son of Saif Ali, a resident of Bela Manohar. According to official reports, Mahammad is a habitual offender with a notorious criminal record in narcotics trafficking. He is currently booked under multiple cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Bahu Fort and Bus Stand police stations in Jammu district.
This decisive action underscores the Samba Police’s aggressive strategy to dismantle the financial and infrastructural foundations of drug networks while sending a stern deterrent message to prospective offenders. The anti-encroachment drive is a direct component of the ongoing region-wide “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan,” a mission dedicated to completely eradicating drug abuse and illicit trafficking from society.
