ARTRAC Commander Lt Gen Devendra Sharma Visits NCO Academy Dhana, Emphasizes Tech-Driven Military Training
DHANA, JULY 14, 2026 — Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), paid an official visit to the prestigious Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) Academy in Dhana on July 13, 2026. Upon his arrival, the Army Commander was comprehensively briefed by Brigadier Lalit Sharma, SC, SM, the Commandant of the NCO Academy. The briefing centered on the institution’s ongoing training initiatives, cutting-edge instructional methodologies, “Vision 2030” roadmap, student result analysis, and recent perception assessments.
Lauding the academy’s progress, Lt Gen Devendra Sharma commended its technology-driven transformation and praised its pivotal role in grooming highly capable, future-ready combat leaders for all Combat and Combat Support Arms of the Indian Army. To successfully navigate the complex challenges of modern 21st-century warfare, the Army Commander underscored the critical need for strong team building, advanced automation, adaptive leadership, and the integration of futuristic training infrastructure.
The visit also served as an occasion to recognize outstanding dedication and service. The GOC-in-C, ARTRAC, awarded prestigious Commendation Cards to two instructors for their exceptional contributions to military training. Additionally, he felicitated two distinguished veterans with the GOC-in-C ARTRAC Veteran Achievers Medal and Certificates of Appreciation, honoring their exemplary and relentless efforts toward veteran welfare.
