SAMBA, JULY 13, 2026 — In a major effort to educate the local workforce on upcoming legislative reforms, the Labour Department of Samba organized two comprehensive awareness camps focusing on the New Four Labour Codes today. The initiatives were specifically designed to bridge the information gap for both organized and unorganized sector workers, detailing how the updated framework will streamline regulations and introduce robust welfare benefits across industries.
The department strategically split the camps to target different segments of the workforce. The first session took place at Naturis Cosmetic Industry, located in the EPIP Kartholi zone of SIDCO, Bari Brahmana, serving members of the organized sector. The second camp moved to Veer Bhoomi Park in Samba to directly engage with unorganized laborers. Reflecting strong community interest, the events drew a combined total of 950 participants. This crowd included 650 contract workers, 150 on-roll employees, and various HR personnel and company representatives from Naturis Cosmetics, alongside 100 workers representing the unorganized sector.
During the sessions, Assistant Labour Commissioner of Samba, Himani Jerath, took the stage to deconstruct the salient features of the New Four Labour Codes, contrasting them against outdated previous labor laws. Jerath emphasized that the core objectives of these sweeping reforms center on simplifying complex legal compliance, strengthening social security nets, and protecting fundamental workers’ rights. She further explained that while the codes drastically improve the ease of doing business for employers, they simultaneously mandate superior welfare measures and clearer compliance mechanisms for the workforce. The camps concluded with highly interactive question-and-answer sessions, where workers actively engaged with officials to clarify specific clauses of the new legislation.
