Director Tourism Jammu Inspects Yatri Niwas to Review Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Arrangements
JAMMU, May 30 — Director Tourism Jammu Vikas Gupta conducted a comprehensive visit to Yatri Niwas in Bhagwati Nagar to inspect ongoing renovation works and evaluate preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
During the site visit, the director carried out a detailed inspection of the accommodation halls, sanitation facilities, langar areas, and the general upgrading of existing infrastructure aimed at enhancing the comfort and stay of the visiting pilgrims.
He reviewed the overall progress of the facelift and interacted directly with the on-site officers and engineering staff to ensure the project remains on track.The inspection also focused heavily on essential utility arrangements, including the consistency of the power supply, drinking water facilities, and backup power systems to prevent any disruption of basic services during the pilgrimage period.
Executive engineers from the Public Works Department and Power Development Department assured the director that all structural and electrical works inside the Yatri Niwas complex would be fully completed well before the official commencement of the yatra.
The director emphasized the need for high quality and efficiency, instructing all teams to wrap up their tasks within the stipulated timeframe to ensure adequate amenities are ready for the devotees.In addition to infrastructure, the director reviewed the planned publicity and awareness campaigns designed to assist the pilgrims.
He issued specific directives to the tourism publicity wing regarding the deployment of advertisements, promotional materials, and the smooth dissemination of travel information across various media platforms. Emphasizing the department’s commitment to delivering a safe, comfortable, and well-managed experience, the director called for close coordination among all stakeholder departments.
He was accompanied during the tour by Deputy Director Tourism Publicity Savita Chauhan, Deputy Director Planning Mamta Sharma, Deputy Director Tourism Pankaj Sasan, Assistant Director Tourism Jammu Vishal Sadhotra, and senior executive engineers from line departments.
