Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo Visits Udhampur Road Accident Victims at GMC

UDHAMPUR, APRIL 20: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo visited Government Medical College Udhampur today to check on the welfare of individuals injured in a tragic road accident at Kaghote, Ramnagar.

Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan, and other senior district officials, the Chief Secretary interacted personally with the patients to review their recovery progress.

He issued immediate directives to the hospital administration and medical staff to provide the highest standard of treatment and ensure all necessary support facilities are available to the victims without any delay.

The Chief Secretary described the accident as a deeply distressing event and expressed his profound concern for the suffering of those involved.

He noted that the district administration, alongside the Army and other agencies, had launched a swift rescue and evacuation operation as soon as the news broke.

Highlighting the urgent need for improved road safety, he called for the strict enforcement of traffic regulations, specifically targeting overloading and the mechanical fitness of vehicles.

He concluded his visit by assuring the public that the government is closely monitoring the situation and remains committed to taking all necessary measures to prevent such tragic incidents from recurring in Jammu and Kashmir.
