Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurates 368 residential units for government employees in Pampore
PAMPORE, MAY 01, 2026:- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today inaugurated 368 newly constructed residential quarters for government employees at Sempora in Pampore, a project developed at an estimated cost of 90.65 crore.
Accompanied by Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Pampore Hasnain Masoodi, and senior officials from the Estates Department, the Chief Minister inspected the 23-block complex which includes modern 2BHK and 3BHK units.
This infrastructure initiative is designed to strengthen government housing facilities and provide well-equipped living spaces to improve the overall welfare and working conditions of the workforce in the Kashmir Valley.
The completion of these residential flats is expected to significantly alleviate long-standing accommodation shortages, particularly following the restoration of the annual Darbar Move.
By providing dedicated housing for employees relocating between Jammu and Srinagar, the government aims to reduce the burden of securing private rentals and offer greater stability for families.
During his visit, the Chief Minister also reviewed the canteen and mess facilities and received briefings on upcoming housing projects intended to further expand the state’s residential infrastructure in a phased manner.
Emphasizing that employee morale and productivity are closely linked to suitable living conditions, the Chief Minister reiterated the government’s priority to invest in welfare-driven infrastructure. He directed the concerned departments to ensure the highest standards of maintenance for the new facilities to guarantee their long-term utility.
This project underscores a broader commitment to timely project execution and the enhancement of public infrastructure to support the administrative needs of Jammu and Kashmir.
