CBI Files Disproportionate Assets Case Against Senior Ordnance Factory Officer Following Multi-City Raids

New Delhi, February 28, 2026 — The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has formally registered a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against a high-ranking 1998-batch officer of the Indian Ordnance Factory Services (IOFS) following allegations of significant illicit enrichment. The accused, who previously served as the Chief General Manager at the Ordnance Equipment Factory in Hazratpur, Firozabad, and is currently posted at the Troop Comforts Ltd. Training Academy in Kanpur, is under investigation for accumulating wealth totaling Rs. 55,58,471 between April 1, 2022, and December 31, 2025. According to the CBI, this amount represents a 73.28% increase over his known sources of income, a discrepancy for which the officer could not provide a satisfactory explanation. Following the registration of the case on February 26, 2026, the agency obtained search warrants from a competent court and conducted synchronized raids on February 27 across five residential and office premises located in Agra, Lucknow, Bareilly, and Kanpur.

The extensive search operations resulted in the recovery and seizure of numerous incriminating documents, including bank passbooks, credit cards, and records pertaining to multiple vehicles and high-value investments. Investigators obtained specific details regarding three immovable properties, including residential houses in Agra, Lucknow, and Bareilly; notably, the flat in Lucknow was purchased in 2023, while the Agra property was acquired as recently as 2025. Beyond real estate, the CBI seized jewelry valued at approximately Rs. 49 lakh and a cash sum of Rs. 5 lakh from the officer’s residences in Agra and Lucknow. Documents detailing various undisclosed expenses and investments were also taken into custody as part of the ongoing probe. As the CBI continues its investigation into the full extent of the officer’s financial dealings, this case highlights a renewed crackdown on corruption within high-level defense production and logistics echelons.
