BSF and CISF DGs Commend Bravery of Injured Personnel Following West Bengal Attack
NEW DELHI, April 27, 2026— DG BSF Praveen Kumar and DG CISF Praveer Ranjan, accompanied by ADG North Sudhir Kumar, visited a medical facility today to personally review the health of Constable Yogesh, a member of the CISF Special Security Group.
The soldier sustained a gunshot wound to his left calf while successfully securing a Y-category protectee during a violent attack at a residence in West Bengal. The DGs praised the constable’s exceptional courage and steadfast professionalism for maintaining the safety of the individual under his protection despite being targeted with country-made weapons.
During the interaction, the DGs commended the dedication displayed by the personnel in the line of duty, emphasizing that such acts of bravery define the core values of the security forces.
The incident, which involved an assault on the protectee’s home, highlighted the high-risk nature of security assignments and the tactical resilience required of the Special Security Group.
