Baramulla Police Issue Travel Advisory Restricting Tourist Movement on Specific Routes
BARAMULLA, JUNE 4 — Baramulla Police today issued a public safety advisory restricting the movement of tourists toward the interior areas of Mulbangil and Batoo along the Hajibal to Babareshi axis. Authorities noticed a recent surge in visitor traffic to these specific locations, often facilitated by local tourism service providers, guides, and transport operators.
The police clarified that the route spanning Qazipora, Ziran, Batoo, Mulbangil, and Hajibal is not part of the officially notified and established tourist circuit. Because these remote areas lack adequate visitor support and emergency response facilities, the police will regulate and prohibit tourist movement along this route with immediate effect and until further notice to ensure public safety.
All tourism stakeholders, including hotel owners, guest house operators, homestay owners, travel agencies, tour operators, taxi operators, tourist guides, and pony operators, are advised not to facilitate, advertise, organize, or encourage tourist visits to these restricted locations.
Police teams are being deployed at strategic points to enforce the new restrictions. Any individual, guide, operator, agency, or business establishment found violating these directives or facilitating unauthorized movement will face strict legal action under the relevant provisions of the law.
Tourists are requested to cooperate fully with the authorities and confine their visits to approved, established tourist destinations in the Tangmarg and Gulmarg areas to ensure their safety and welfare.
