Assam Rifles Holds Welfare Outreach Program for Veterans and Veer Naris in Palampur

Palampur, 26th April 2026:- The Assam Rifles organized a significant outreach program in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, to strengthen ties with its veteran community and provide essential welfare support.

The event saw a large gathering of approximately 600 participants, including Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, and Next of Kin from both Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. This initiative served as a platform to honor the sacrifices of the force’s extended family and reaffirm the enduring bond between the personnel and the organization.

During the ceremony, Director General Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, felicitated Veer Naris and gallantry awardees in recognition of their exemplary service and dedication to the nation.

To provide practical assistance, the force distributed various medical and mobility aids, including wheelchairs, hearing aids, and walking sticks.

These contributions were part of a broader effort to ensure the well-being and comfort of veterans and their families who have served the country with distinction.

The program also featured dedicated administrative support, with stalls set up by the Records branches and welfare associations to resolve grievances and address service-related queries on the spot.

Financial and medical assistance were also prioritized, with participation from major banking institutions like State Bank of India and Axis Bank, alongside ECHS empanelled hospitals providing medical guidance.

The day concluded with a communal lunch, fostering a sense of camaraderie and highlighting the steadfast commitment of the Assam Rifles to the lifelong care of its veterans.
