Assam Rifles and DRI seize foreign cigarettes worth over five crore rupees in Mizoram
AIZAWL, May 29, 2026 – Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, recovered 218 cartons of smuggled foreign cigarettes during a successful joint operation in Seling, located in the Aizawl district of Mizoram.
The seized contraband, valued at approximately 5.23 crore rupees, consisted of 48 cartons of Oris, 66 cartons of Patron, and 104 cartons of Win cigarettes.One individual was apprehended by security forces during the course of the operation.
Both the recovered contraband and the apprehended individual were subsequently handed over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for further legal investigation and processing.
