Assam Rifles and Axis Bank Sign MoU to Provide Enhanced Financial Benefits for Personnel

SHILLONG, April 23, 2026 — Assam Rifles signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Axis Bank today at the Headquarters of the Director General Assam Rifles in Laitkor, Shillong, to launch a customized corporate salary package for its serving and retired personnel.

The formalization of this agreement took place in the presence of Major General Jai Singh Bainsla, Additional Director General of Assam Rifles, representing Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, alongside Satpreet Chelawat, Executive Vice President and Business Head of Corporate Salary Business at Axis Bank.

The MoU was officially signed by Brigadier Sandip Chatterjee, Brigadier Personnel, on behalf of the Assam Rifles and Satpreet Chelawat on behalf of the bank.This strategic partnership introduces a specially curated health insurance scheme designed exclusively for Assam Rifles personnel, complemented by personal accident insurance and permanent total disability cover.

In addition to these protections, the agreement offers a variety of tailored financial benefits aimed at improving the economic well-being of the force.

This initiative highlights the ongoing commitment of the Assam Rifles to bolster the welfare, healthcare support, and long-term financial security of both its active-duty soldiers and veterans.
