Air Marshal Yalla Umesh reviews joint technical training and innovation at MCEME Secunderabad
SECUNDERABAD, May 26, 2026 — Air Marshal Yalla Umesh, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Maintenance Command, visited the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering today to review its training and technological initiatives.
During the visit, senior officials briefed him on the pivotal role the institution plays in advancing Tri-Services integration through joint technical training, innovation, and capability development, all of which align with the Indian Army’s Decade of Transformation.
The briefing specifically highlighted the contribution of the college toward fostering jointness among the Armed Forces by conducting integrated training programs for personnel from all three services in niche and emerging technologies.
The focus areas of the institution’s advanced programs include artificial intelligence, machine learning, drones, additive manufacturing, electronic warfare, communication technologies, and advanced weapon and aviation systems.
The Air Marshal toured various faculties within the campus, where he was apprised of contemporary training methodologies and modern infrastructure.
He also inspected ongoing research and development initiatives aimed at indigenization, which are designed to enhance operational synergy, interoperability, and overall combat readiness across the Indian Armed Forces.
