Neeru Dhanda Wins Historic Shotgun Trap Gold at ISSF World Cup

LONATO, Italy — July 12, 2026 Indian Army shooter Neeru Dhanda scripted history at the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Lonato, Italy, by becoming the first Indian ever to win a gold medal in the Shotgun (Trap) event.

Representing the Army Marksmanship Unit, Dhanda delivered a stellar performance on the global stage, scoring 121 out of 125 in the qualification rounds and finishing with 27 out of 30 in the intense finals. Her historic victory saw her finish ahead of reigning world champions from France and Spain.
