Army Chief Reviews Operational Preparedness and Modernisation Initiatives of Central Command
NEW DELHI, AUG 05, 2026 — Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth concluded a comprehensive two-day tour of Central Command formations to evaluate the regional security situation, overall operational preparedness, and ongoing capability enhancement efforts. The official visit, conducted over August 4 and 5, served to reinforce the military branch’s commitment toward building a technologically empowered, adaptable, and self-reliant defense force capable of addressing multi-domain security challenges.
During his visit to Headquarters Central Command in Lucknow, General Dhiraj Seth received extensive briefings detailing the Command’s strategic posture, ongoing infrastructure development, and modernisation programs aimed at elevating combat readiness. Following the strategic updates, the army chief proceeded to Headquarters Uttar Bharat Area, where he directly interacted with commanders and personnel on the ground to review local administrative and defense measures.
Addressing all ranks during the tour, General Dhiraj Seth stressed that continuous adaptability, self-reliance, and constant operational agility form the core foundation of a modern military establishment. He urged soldiers and officers to maintain high vigilance and remain future-ready in an evolving modern warfare landscape, emphasizing that national security demands proactive preparedness across all sectors.
In addition to evaluating field readiness, General Dhiraj Seth presented the Yoddha Seva Samman to distinguished military veterans in recognition of their exceptional contributions to nation-building after active duty. The awardees—Major General Harsh Kakar (Retired), Colonel Arvind Singh Kushwaha (Retired), Naib Subedar Radhey Shyam (Retired), and Risaldar Major (Honorary Captain) Vijay Kumar (Retired)—were honored for their impactful service in social work, healthcare, education, environmental protection, agriculture, sports, and veteran welfare. The visit highlighted the defense forces’ dual focus on maintaining high operational standards while fostering an enduring spirit of public service.
