In Poonch district, police units executed targeted checks across multiple locations, intercepting and impounding two heavy-duty tipper trucks and two tractor-trolleys actively engaged in illegal mining operations. Following the seizures, law enforcement immediately alerted the Mining Department to initiate formal legal proceedings under applicable environmental and mining regulations. Senior officers emphasized that the operation forms part of an ongoing, zero-tolerance strategy aimed at curbing resource exploitation, protecting local ecology, and upholding strict statutory compliance. Authorities have called upon residents to assist law enforcement by reporting any suspicious mining or transit activities in their areas.

Simultaneously, in neighboring Rajouri district, officers established strategic checkpoints to disrupt illegal supply routes, intercepting four additional vehicles operating without valid transport permits or statutory documentation.
