ANANTNAG, AUGUST 04, 2026 — In a major push to dismantle regional narcotics networks, the Jammu and Kashmir Police executed Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act warrants against two notorious drug peddlers in Anantnag district.

The individuals, identified as Javid Ahmed Dar of Kheribal Mattan and Suhail Ahmed Bhat of Krangsoo Mattan, both have extensive criminal histories involving multiple drug offenses. To neutralize their ongoing threat to the community, authorities placed both men under preventive detention.
