DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Honors Reasi Police Officers for Exemplary Impact During 100-Day Anti-Drug Campaign
REASI, AUGUST 04, 2026: In recognition of exceptional dedication and high-impact enforcement during the 100 Days Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a special felicitation ceremony was conducted at the District Police Office in Reasi. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, along with Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Mukund Tibrewal, awarded commendation certificates to key officers and personnel for their relentless performance in curbing narcotics trafficking across the region. Addressing the gathered officers, DIG Sharma commended the proactive, result-oriented, and multi-pronged operational strategy adopted by Reasi Police, praising the seamless teamwork across all ranks that drove the campaign’s success while urging personnel to sustain this momentum with a zero-tolerance policy in the months ahead.
The 100-day campaign yielded major law enforcement breakthroughs, including the registration of 97 FIRs against 114 accused and a heavy blow to the financial infrastructure supporting illicit drug networks. Authorities attached five movable and five immovable properties derived from crime proceeds, invoked the stringent Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act against 12 habitual offenders, and auctioned four impounded vehicles under Section 52A of the NDPS Act. To systematically dismantle the economic foundation of drug syndicates, police froze 53 bank accounts, canceled 32 driving licenses, suspended 27 vehicle registrations, and revoked operating licenses for 26 medical establishments implicated in illegal drug distribution.
Beyond rigorous punitive actions, Reasi Police implemented a balanced strategy integrating community outreach and rehabilitation. The department conducted counselling and medical treatment sessions to help affected individuals reintegrate into society, while launching extensive educational initiatives—such as seminars, street plays, and youth-focused engagement programs—to raise awareness about substance abuse. The ceremony concluded with District Police Reasi reiterating its firm resolve to combine strict legal enforcement with proactive community engagement, safeguarding public health and maintaining a drug-free society across the district.
