Srinagar Police Conduct Multi-Agency Mock Drill for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 Security

SRINAGAR JUNE 30,2026 :- In a major push to ensure a safe and seamless pilgrimage, the Srinagar Police conducted a comprehensive multi-agency mock drill at the Transit Yatri Camp in Panthachowk to evaluate emergency preparedness for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2026. The extensive exercise was designed to test operational readiness, inter-agency communication, and the speed and efficiency of emergency responses during critical scenarios. A diverse group of stakeholders participated in the drill, including the Jammu & Kashmir Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Traffic Police, Security Wing, Fire & Emergency Services, the Health Department, SDRF, Civil Administration, and ambulance services.

Prior to the simulation, designated police officers thoroughly briefed all participating teams on their specific roles and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), placing a heavy emphasis on minimizing response times and maintaining seamless communication. The drill realistically simulated multiple high-stakes emergencies, including road traffic accidents, Fidayeen terror attacks, law and order contingencies, accidental injuries, and large-scale rescue and medical evacuation operations. Alongside security measures, the Civil Administration, CAPD, Revenue, and Health Departments have streamlined essential arrangements for pilgrim food, shelter, and medical aid under the unified command of the Joint Police Control Room (Joint-PCR). The exercise concluded with a detailed debriefing session to analyze operational gaps and further refine the emergency response framework, reinforcing the Srinagar Police’s commitment to a secure and incident-free Yatra.
