Kathua Police Seize Six Vehicles for Illegal Mining Across Basohli and Billawar

KATHUA, JUNE 03 — In a continuing crackdown on illegal mining, Kathua Police has seized six vehicles used for the unauthorized mining and transportation of construction material. Under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, police teams operating in the jurisdictional areas of Kathua, Basohli, and Billawar confiscated four trucks, one dumper, and one tractor trolley that were operating without the required valid permits.

In the first operation, a patrolling police team led by the Kathua station house officer, under the guidance of the additional superintendent of police and the deputy superintendent of police headquarters, intercepted and seized four trucks loaded with construction bajri in the Bedian Pattan area. The vehicles, bearing registration numbers PB10BV-1481, PB23J8634, PB04AD-6658, and PB11BF-9145, were found transporting the material without any legal permission.Simultaneously, a patrolling police team led by the Basohli station house officer, under the close supervision of the Basohli sub-divisional police officer, intercepted and seized a tractor trolley bearing registration number PB35L-8093 involved in unauthorized extraction.

In a separate action, a team led by the Billawar station house officer and supervised by the Billawar sub-divisional police officer seized a dumper with registration number JK08M0380 for identical violations. All six seized vehicles have been handed over to the Geology and Mining Department in Kathua for further legal action.
